Five Tips to Get Bargain Airline Tickets

The problem was airline travel is that it is very expensive to purchase airline tickets and the bulk of your money that is spent on a vacation is usually for your airline tickets. This can become a very expensive exercise especially when you have a family to take on vacation. That is why I have five valuable tips that will help you get bargain airline tickets for you and your family.

1.Booking needs to be done in advance and there is no other way of beating or getting cheaper airline tickets. It is safe to say the minimum days; you need to book before your travel date for an international flight is 30 days and for local all domestic flights 21 days. If you book your flight, meaning 3 to 6 months ahead of your departure date rather than booking 30 days before departure date is obvious. The price will be cheaper at 3 to 6 months.

2.Travel variations are when you try to find all available and possible flights to a specific destination from your current departure city. Will it be direct flights or connecting flights or will your flight have stopovers and a specific city for a specific time period? The more options you have the greater chance of getting a cheaper airline ticket

3.Out of season traveling, is one of the many reasons, that it makes sense to do so. As accommodation/lodging and flight tickets will be cheaper, as they are less people at that specific destination, which you want to visit or travel to.

4.Departure date needs to be during the week, preferably a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as this will be your cheapest flights during the week all the other dates will carry an extra price tag on those days, as they are key departure or arrival days. Do also take into consideration the time of your flight as this will also play a role in determining your flight cost.

5.Use your credit card to purchase your airline tickets and make sure that your credit card is linked to a rewards program that offers you air miles so that you can redeem with your next airline ticket purchase. Ask your credit card company to provide more detail on this rewards program.

As you can see they are various ways in which one can get bargain airline tickets, all for a little bit of research or homework done on your side. This can prove extremely valuable when purchasing tickets for the entire family. If you save $150 per ticket, and multiply that by 4 that adds up to $600 in savings, which means more money available for you to spend at your destination.

I would recommend that you do all your research and purchase your tickets online. As this is the only way. You can and will compare airline ticket prices accurately and immediately this will keep you in charge of your vacation spending money giving you the chance to experience more at your travel destination than rather spending that money on air travel.
